ABOUT me
Mission
My mission is to help individuals improve the quality of their everyday lives through fitness, mindset and lifestyle.
Background
I have always loved sports and being outside—playing soccer, tennis, and horseback riding as a kid—but it wasn’t until college that I built a different sort of relationship with athletics. Specifically, during my sophomore year at USC, I wanted to take control of my fitness in all capacities: I wanted to lose weight, improve my physical fitness, practice smart nutrition, and improve my overall well-being. I was dealing with both an overwhelming sense of insecurity and also an urge to fill an athletic void in my life, and knew that addressing these factors could help. After much self-experimentation and research, I got the results I wanted. What I wasn’t expecting was just how big of a mental transformation focusing on these aspects would elicit; I became more confident, motivated and energized.
It’s no surprise then that my own experience helped me realize I wanted to build a career in helping others experience the life-changing effects health and fitness have. I switched my major to Human Performance, under the Human Biology department of the University of Southern California, and made it my goal to help others improve their confidence, energy, self-compassion, happiness, and of course total-body health through movement, nutrition and wellness practices.
I have experienced many highs and lows throughout my own relationship with fitness, learning a lot along the way. I believe and hope my own journey helps me support others through theirs, and I feel grateful to be able to make an impact on my clients’ lives in this way.
Education
My education at USC built a strong scientific foundation in exercise physiology, kinesiology, anatomy, biomechanics, nutrition and sports psychology. Since then, I have continued my education in many different capacities and don’t plan on stopping! Over the course of my career in fitness, I have earned the titles of:
Functional Strength Coach. Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning.
Certified Coach. XPT Life/Extreme Performance Training.
Corrective Exercise Specialist. National Academy of Sports Medicine.
L1 Track & Field Coach. USA Track & Field.
Road Running Coach. Road Runner's Club of America.
I love to learn and would consider self study an everyday habit. Gaining a better understanding of varied health topics only helps me become a better coach to both my clients and also myself.
