MOVEMENT.

I believe that moving well and moving often gives rise to a life full of activity, energy, freedom and a strong sense of capability.

I combine functional training, strength and conditioning, sports performance and corrective coaching methods to build well-rounded individuals who are strong in all of the fundamental movement patterns. Together, we work to build aerobic fitness, core strength, mobility and strength in all planes of motion.

I integrate my clients’ needs with their wants in order to help them reach their goals, while also addressing any limitations that may be present in their movement. My hope is that building a base in the gym encourages clients to move more outside, whether it be simply taking their dogs to the beach more often or taking up a new sport. Personally, I find so much joy in living an active lifestyle and hope I can help my clients feel the same way.

RECOVERY.

The second pillar is recovery. Humans are the only species that live a life not matched to our biology…we live in over-stimulating environments, work high-pressure jobs, and expose ourselves to an overwhelming amount of psychological and physical stress. We also lose mobility and flexibility when we train hard and sit more. These factors and more add up to lives lived in sympathetic (fight or flight) states the majority of the time, blunting our ability to recover, grow and repair, downregulate our nervous systems and more. Loss of mobility throws off our movement patterns, leading to compensation and ultimately injury, affecting a person’s day-to-day life.

Mobility work, stretching, nutrition and basic breathing mechanics are the key components I address in helping my clients restore their bodies and minds. I tailor mobility drills to each client depending on how he or she moves and adapt programs as we see progress. Both what we eat and how we breath are key to just about every physiological and mental function, not to mention body composition results. By helping educate my clients in both nutrition and breathwork, I hope to improve their recovery and help energize day-to-day lives.

MINDSET.

The last major component of my philosophy is mindset. I believe that intrinsic motivation, belief in oneself and focus are critical factors in reaching goals, gaining fitness, building new goals, and creating a lifestyle we love. I hope to help my clients create a healthy mindset around fitness and all that comes with it, because in my opinion, doing so opens the door to living life passionately: being active, socializing, committing to growth, feeling capable, having a positive impact, and feeling good on a daily basis.
